Civil Construction business is quickly picking up the pieces after the pandemic: NBCC Ltd
According to the CMD of NBCC Ltd, Civil Construction sector made a strong, quick comeback after half the year was washed out. Contracts execution are picking up, it is almost past the Corona period and presently at 85 to 90 % of the pre pandemic level.
NBCC Ltd was awarded many high value civil contracts approximately Rs 12,000.00 crore during the current financial year. These contracts will give a very good turnover to the company during this quarter as well as in 2021-22.
In addition to the above, several other high value civil construction projects both within and outside India are at the advance stage of discussion. To name a few of them are the government of Nigeria regarding a hospital and road work, the government of Ghana regarding infrastructure development projects etc.
Besides, NBCC Ltd have signed an MOU with Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd for redevelopment of their properties and already also in touch with the Indian Navy and Housing Board of Odisha for redevelopment work.
The Company has also informed that availability of small contractors for civil construction vis-a-a vis labour supplier was not very encouraging till some time ago but now the situation is getting improved as there are 85 to 90 % civil construction workers are available at different construction sites. Also the company is increasing speed of execution by awarding large value contracts to big civil construction contractors, because big contractors are able to mobilise better and give us better turnover per month.
